How to cast your quiz to your TV (Android, iPhone, tablet and laptop)
You can play your Quiz on a laptop or tablet, but it’s even more fun to show it on a big screen — especially with a larger group! Below, we explain step by step how to do this.
Casting your quiz to the TV at a glance:
Make sure all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Phone/tablet (Android/iOS): use Cast/Smart View (Android) or AirPlay (iPhone/iPad).
Laptop/MacBook: choose AirPlay, Chromecast via Chrome, or use an HDMI cable.
Don’t have a smart TV? Use a Chromecast, Apple TV or HDMI.
Is wireless not working properly? HDMI is always the safest solution.
Cast from your laptop or MacBook
Casting from your MacBook (macOS)
With a MacBook, there are several ways to get your Quiz onto the TV: wirelessly via AirPlay or Chromecast, or simply with a cable.
AirPlay: Click on the AirPlay icon in the menu bar or via Control Centre. Select your TV or Apple TV → mirror or extend your screen.
Chromecast: Open Chrome → three dots → Cast, save and share → select cast and then your TV/Chromecast. You can share a tab or your entire screen.
HDMI cable: Connect your Mac with an HDMI or USB-C to HDMI cable. In your display settings, choose to duplicate or extend.
Casting via Google Chrome
Casting from your Windows laptop
You can also cast easily with a Windows laptop. You can choose Miracast (if your TV supports it), Chromecast via the browser, or an HDMI cable.
Miracast (Windows 10/11): Press Windows + K → select your TV (only works if your TV supports Miracast).
Chromecast via Chrome: Open Chrome → three dots → Cast, save and share → select cast and then your TV/Chromecast.
HDMI cable: Connect your laptop directly with HDMI. Press Windows + P to choose between duplicate or extend.
Cast from your phone or tablet
Casting from an Android phone or tablet
Most Android devices have a built-in casting feature as standard. This makes it easy to cast your quiz onto your TV.
Most Androids have a built-in option such as Cast, Smart View or Screen Mirroring.
Open your Quiz in the browser (Chrome), tap the three dots → Cast, save and share → choose your TV or Chromecast.
Make sure your TV and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Casting via an Android phone with Smart View
Casting from an iPhone or iPad
With an iPhone or iPad, you usually use AirPlay to share your screen. Don’t have an AirPlay TV? Then there are alternative options.
Use AirPlay (works with Apple TV and most modern TVs such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips).
Swipe down → open Control Centre → select Sync Screen → select your TV.
Don’t have an AirPlay TV? Then you can cast via a Chromecast app (Google Home).

Common problems (and solutions)
I don’t see my TV in the cast list: Check that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
I have a picture, but no sound: With Chromecast, it is possible that only the tab is being shared. Select ‘Cast entire screen’ or use AirPlay.
AirPlay icon missing on Mac: Go to System Preferences > > Displays and turn on AirPlay.
Image does not fit properly on the TV: Adjust the resolution in your screen settings or turn off “overscan” on your TV.
Frequently asked questions about casting a Quiz to your TV
What is the easiest solution if I don't want any hassle?
HDMI. One cable and you’re ready to go. Works every time, regardless of brand or type of device.
Does casting work even if I don't have Wi-Fi?
No, you need Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. No Wi-Fi? Use an HDMI cable.
Can I also cast the Quiz from my tablet?
Certainly. A tablet functions similarly to a phone: Android tablets utilise the Cast feature, while iPads utilise AirPlay.
Can I use multiple screens at the same time (e.g. Quiz on TV and something else on my laptop)?
Yes. With HDMI or AirPlay, you can choose ‘extend’ instead of ‘mirror’. This allows you to display the Quiz on the big screen and keep notes or the presenter view on your laptop.
