The Best Quiz Settings for Your Quiz

Nice! You’ve purchased a quiz – so fun that you’re getting started!

You’ve received your ClassicQuiz login details, and your quiz is ready to go.

Before you dive in, it’s smart to take a quick look at the default settings to make sure everything’s set up just the way you want it.

Everything might already be perfect – or you might want to tweak a few things to better suit your group or event.

Below you’ll find the key settings and how to adjust them.

1. Language settings

The language setting doesn’t affect the quiz questions themselves, but it does change the language of the ClassicQuiz interface – like the login screen and intro screen.

Want to change the language in ClassicQuiz? Just click the three dots next to the “Start Quiz” button. Here’s how it works:

2. Scoring & Sound Effects.

Before starting the quiz, you can choose whether or not players get bonus points for answering quickly.

By default, this setting is on – meaning the faster you answer correctly, the more points you get. Prefer to keep it fair and simple? You can easily switch this off so only the correct answer counts.

You can also decide whether to play with or without sound effects. These are off by default, but you can turn them on for a bit of extra atmosphere.

TIP: Do a quick test run to see what works best for you and your players!

3. Additional settings (only for editable Quizzes).

Got yourself an editable quiz? Nice – you’ll get access to some extra settings to tailor the experience to your group.

Move on automatically once everyone has answered?

You can choose whether the quiz moves forward automatically when all players have submitted an answer. This is on by default, but you can turn it off if you’d rather control the pace yourself.

Continue automatically after showing the results?

You can also set whether the quiz moves on automatically after showing the results. This is off by default – giving you full control over the flow of the game.

Adjust the speed of question reveal?

You can decide how quickly the question is built up on screen before participants can answer.

This doesn’t change the actual answer time (you adjust that in the ClassicQuiz editor), but it does affect how fast the question appears visually. The default is set to Slow or Medium.

TIP: Try out different speeds in advance to see what fits your audience best.
